How Indian Professionals Can Apply for Hong Kong QMAS?

Will you consider a career path or several job opportunities in Hong Kong as a professional from India?

Hong Kong is well known as one of the biggest leading financial centers in the world, and is certainly the biggest financial center in Asia, while it is the place to absorb a large amount of foreign investment.

As China liberalizes its markets due to its WTO membership commitments, both large and mid-small Hong Kong companies have been increasingly active to connect suppliers in other countries. The connections link back into many Mainland China consumers in which they are in a market known to be difficult for foreign companies to penetrate.

Industries including logistics, trade supporting services, product testing, inspection, arbitration, mediation, trade finance documentation, Insurance and a few more are well known to have done well and are always competing for experienced professionals.

Immigration to Hong Kong is possible. You may want to get help from a local immigration consultant in Hong Kong.

One route is through the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme (QMAS). Hong Kong’s QMAS is an entrant scheme for highly skilled and/or talented professionals to enter for work in HK. The applicants would certainly have to meet certain minimum requirements, such as passing Points test (that are either in General or with Achievement). The high scoring applications are chosen through a selection process by the Hong Kong Immigration Department that is restricted by a quota per quarter. You will most probably have to attend a face-to-face interview with your original documents and application.

To be considered eligible for the application of QMAS, you must be above age of 18 and you must be able to support yourself in terms of personal finance (including housing cost, or rent, etc). You must prove yourself are a person free of crime in your country of origin. You must prove to be proficient in written and spoken English or Chinese. You need to have the basic education background including a degree from a recognized university or a tertiary institution.

To qualify for your application, you will have to pass any one of the points based test, General Points Based Test or Achievement Points Based Test. For example, the General Points Based Test is based on age, academic qualifications, work experience, language proficiency, and family background.

In the Achievement Based Points Test, the applicant must demonstrate outstanding skills, exceptional talent, national or international awards, and significant contribution to a specific field of work.

When the visa is granted, it will be valid for one year. If you are married with children, you can bring alone your spouse and children. They can apply for dependent visas.
